I purchased this because my other magnifying glasses were scratched and it is a son of a gun holding the magnifying glass in one hand and a flashlight in the other. This product solves that with flying colors. The lamp is very bright, and illuminates very well. The 3 X optical is just right... whether it is splinters, small print or dates on coins, or identifying small bugs, this will easily make all things larger and visible.
The day after I got mine, I ordered two more.. .one for my 86 year old father in law and one for my 78 year old mom.
